The Mexican Grand Prix's starting underwent a few additional changes following Daniel Ricciardo and Brendon Hartley's grid penalties.
The good old times of waking up on a race day and knowing where everyone starts the race appears to be a memory from a bygone era.
Stoffel Vandoorne, Fernando Alonso and Pierre Gasly have all taken on additional power unit elements, and have subsequently received penalties worth 35, 20 and 15 grid drops respectively.
But Ricciardo and Hartley have been added to the tally. The Aussie incurs a 20-place drop while the size of the Kiwi's demotion is an identical 20 places.
As a result of the Red Bull Racing driver's setback, all drivers positioned beyond P7 will move up one spot.
It's worth noting that Gasly, for his return to F1 with Toro Rosso after his one-race hiatus, completed only ten laps in Mexico following his car's mechanical woes.
Not the best preparation for any driver, let alone for a rookie!
