Silverstone, the venue for the British Grand Prix, is undergoing a complete resurfacing of its 3.66-mile circuit to reduce several bumps in the road.
The Northamptonshire track, which is owned and operated by the British Racing Driver's Club, had initially planned to lay down new asphalt between the Stowe and Club corners, a bumpy area frequently singled-out by MotoGP riders.
Given the age of the current track's surface however, it was ultimately decided to conduct work over the entire length of the circuit.
Formula 1 drivers will therefore enjoy a brand new strip of tarmac when they race at the historic venue in July.
As a reminder, the BRDC has pulled out of its current contract with Formula 1. With no guarantees a new deal to host the race will be reached in the future with Liberty Media, this year's event could F1's last visit to Silverstone.
