The FIA has confirmed that a third DRS zone will be added for Sunday's Canadian Grand Prix at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve.
In its effort to promote and facilitate overtaking, the governing body added a third zone in Melbourne, for the opening round of the world championship, an initiative which did nothing however to increase the number of passes - limited to five during the race - around Albert Park.
Montreal's high speed layout is generally perceived as a venue offering good racing action, but the FIA has felt compelled nevertheless to add a third DRS strip on the track's back straight between turns 7 and 8, with the detection point located just after turn 5.
The first two activation points remain unchanged from last year, with the first placed just before Turn 12 and the second situated just after Turn 14.
