Racing flat out this weekend through Silverstone's Turn 1 with the DRS open will be a challenge, except perhaps for F1's front-runners reckons Red Bull's Max Verstappen.
The FIA has added a third DRS zone for the British Grand Prix, located along the start-finish line and that will include the Abbey and Farm corners.
The prospect of racing on full throttle, DRS open, through the first two turns - at least in low fuel conditions - is an exciting one, but Verstappen believes only a select few will enjoy that thrill.
"I don’t think it’ll be easy for everyone, maybe a few teams, maybe us and of course Ferrari and Mercedes, but some other teams will have some difficulties going through flat through there," said the Dutchman.
If Verstappen has his doubts about running full blast through Abbey in qualifying trim, his expectations for the race are even lower.
"I think in the race when you’ve got DRS, you will not be able to take it flat, just because the car is that heavy and it’s really hard on the tyres because you will move around.
"I think you will see people just closing it and just go through the corner."
Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel was on the same page as Verstappen, suggesting the specific DRS zone would likely only advantage F1's unassailable top three teams.
"I'm a little confused, I don't know what the intention is," Vettel said Thursday
"We are talking about something only the cars with the biggest downforce will be able to do.
"If anything, this could just be an advantage for Ferrari, Mercedes and Red Bull, and I doubt that is the intention. So I don't quite understand," he added.
