It's only a virtual impression so far, but Max Verstappen has offered up some initial positive feedback on Red Bull's RB15 after testing the new car in the simulator.
The Milton Keynes-based outfit will reveal its 2019 raging bull on February 13, on the same rival Mercedes will pull the covers off its latest Silver Arrow.
Verstappen was in Amsterdam on Monday evening where the Dutchman attended an event for personal sponsor G-Star.
Queried on his prospects for 2019, the 21-year-old elaborated on his first impressions of his new charger which will hit the track when pre-season testing kicks off in Barcelona on February 18.
"I've only driven the new car in the simulator so far, but it feels positive," Verstappen said, quoted by Dutch website Formule 1.
"But you obviously don't know what the other teams are doing. It's also about waiting. It's exciting although the real excitement will come when I'll be in the car.
"You don't know what to expect beforehand."
Verstappen also confirmed once again the confidence surrounding Honda, Red Bull's new engine partner.
"I notice that there is a lot of positive energy," he added.
"You notice that the drive is there to win. I think it's coming from both sides, from the team and from the engine supplier.
"It is a fresh start with Honda, and everyone is very motivated. We are all looking forward to the new season."
