Ferrari has handed young Italian charger Antonio Fuoco a full day of running with the Scuderia at next month's post-Spanish Grand Prix in-season test.
F1 teams must provide a testing opportunity to a driver with fewer than three Grand Prix starts to his name at two of the four days of in-season testing spread across Bahrain and Barcelona.
That rule enticed Ferrari to run Mick Schumacher at Sakhir recently, but the German has been ruled out for the Barcelona test where Fuoco will be on duty alongside Charles Leclerc.
A former member of Ferrari's Driver Academy, Fuoco has retained a link with the Scuderia, working in Maranello as a simulator driver.
The 22-year-old, who sampled F1 machinery with Ferrari in 2015 and 2016, took part in the FIA Formula 2 Championship in 2017 and 2018, winning three races in the series, respectively with Prema and Charouz.
His current schedule includes the Italian GT championship in which he drives an AF-Corse Ferrari 488 GT3.
Next month's in-season test at the Circuit de Catalunya will also see Ferrari Driver Academy member Callum Ilott take to the track with Alfa Romeo Racing.
