Pierre Gasly addressed in Montreal the recent silly season buzz that suggested the Frenchman could be dropped next season by Red Bull in favour of Renault's Nico Hulkenberg.
The malicious rumour was making the rounds of the paddock in Monaco but Red Bull motorsport boss Helmut Marko refuted the hearsay, qualifying the gossip as "far-fetched" and "absolute nonsense".
Still, Gasly - whose form or results haven't been particularly spectacular since his promotion from Toro Rosso to Red Bull racing - felt compelled after Monaco to give Marko a call to hear the denial from the horse's mouth.
In Canada, the 23-year-old made certain, in no uncertain terms, that he was focused on his race weekend rather than on any wicked speculation.
"I don't want to waste any time with this bullshit," Gasly said. "I have more important things to take care of.
"For me, bullshit like this is just bad journalism. I don't want to comment anymore about this."
