Aston Martin Red Bull Racing's Alex Albon says he received a few messages from Lewis Hamilton in the wake of the pair's clash in the closing stages of the Brazilian Grand Prix.
Albon lost a potential maiden podium when the Mercedes driver made a bold attempt to overtake the Red Bull charger on the penultimate lap at Interlagos.
Albon was spun around and drifted down the order while Hamilton was hit with a time penalty that demoted him to seventh.
After the race, in Parc Fermé, the six-time world champion apologized to Albon for the over-enthusiastic maneuver, an action he later followed up with a couple of personal messages sent to the British-Thai racer.
"Lewis isn't all to blame, there are things I can always do to avoid things like that, but of course it was nice what he said," Albon told Sky Sports News ahead of this weekend's 2019 finale in Abu Dhabi.
"He sent me a couple of messages as well. So, all's very good."
Despite a botched opportunity to stand on the podium for the first time in his short career, Brazil was a good race for Albon who demonstrated his ability to race wheel-to-wheel with F1's big guns.
"It was disappointing at the time but, in reflection, it was a good weekend for me," he added.
"It was one of the first few times, Mexico as well, where I could mix it with the big boys and there were more positives than negatives.
"In the end it was just one little crash that kind of ruined the race but in reflection it was a good weekend."
