Former F1 driver Carlos Reutemann was admitted back into the intensive care unit of the Sanatorio Parque clinic in Sante Fe earlier this week following a feverish condition and symptoms of dehydration.
Last month, Reutemann was hospitalized for 16 days at the health institution after suffering a digestive hemorrhage.
The 79-year-old's condition required an operation that proved successful and eventually allowed the F1 veteran to return home.
However, an elevated fever and signs of dehydration led to Reutemann's return to the Sanatorio Parque's ICU on Tuesday.

"Yesterday afternoon, Senator Carlos Reutemann presented a feverish picture with repercussions on his general condition," stated a medical bulletin published on Wednesday by the Santa Fe clinic.
"Faced with this new complication, it was decided to transfer him to the Intensive Care Unit of this institution. His prognosis is reserved, and diagnostic studies continue to be carried out."
In 2017, the former governor of Santa Fe underwent surgery in New York due to liver cancer, and it is believed that Reutemann's current health affliction may have its origins in that past illness.
Reutemann took part in 146 Grands Prix from 1972 to 1982, winning races with Brabham, Ferrari and Williams, and missed out on the 1981 F1 world championship by a single point against Nelson Piquet.
After retiring from motorsport, Reutemann embarked on a political career in his home country, becoming the governor of his native province of Santa Fe. He has served in Argentina's senate since 2003.
