Ferrari team boss Mattia Binotto addressed in Abu Dhabi the rumors circulating in the media over a possible return of departing FIA president Jean Todt to Maranello.

Earlier this week, a report by Italy's Corriere della Sera stated that Todt, who will leave the presidency of motorsport's governing body next week, is considering accepting a consultancy role with Ferrari proposed by Ferrari and Stellantis chairman John Elkann.

The report claimed that Todt and Elkann have talked repeatedly since last summer, but Binotto neither confirmed nor denied the story.

"I heard and I read about some specific speculations in that respect," said the Scuderia chief. "What I can say is that, so far, they are only speculations."

Binotto is well acquainted with Todt, having worked for several years under the Frenchman's management of the Scuderia from 1995 until his departure from the House of Maranello at the end of 2008.

"Personally, I worked with Jean Todt, he has been my boss," added the Swiss. "I think I learned a lot from him. It has been an honour to work with him.

"I will say that as well, in case whatever would be in the future, it will still be an honour for me to work together with him, because I still believe that there's still much to learn."
