Storm Eunice produced record wind gusts and disruption in the UK on Friday but that didn't deter Mercedes from shaking down its W13 at Silverstone on Friday.

The Brackley crew rolled out its 2022 Silver Arrow onto the wet track shortly after its presentation, with both Lewis Hamilton and George Russell on hand to conduct the systems check.

"This morning it gave me goosebumps when the car was fired up for the first time," Russell said.

"I’ve driven so many laps in the simulator, I’ve seen so many drawings of it, I’ve had so many meetings about it, but there’s nothing like going to a race track.

"It almost brings me back to my roots – a cold, wet, windy day at Silverstone, but here with the Mercedes Formula 1 team."

Mercedes now heads to Spain to set up shop along with its rivals for F1's first three days of pre-season testing that will kick off at the Circuit de Catalunya in Barcelona on February 23.
