Nico Rosberg has finally received his pole trophy from 2014, just three weeks from the first race of the 2016 season.
The FIA introduced a new trophy two years ago which would recognise the driver who secured the most pole positions in a season. With Mercedes dominating the first season under the new V6 power unit regulations, Rosberg got the better of team-mate Lewis Hamilton by taking pole on 11 occasions from the 19 races.
However, the German driver had yet to receive the new trophy, joking that Hamilton would be waiting a long time for it when his team-mate won the award last season.
With the 2016 season set to get underway in Melbourne in less than three weeks, Rosberg took to Twitter on Monday to confirm he has now been presented with the trophy.
