The buzz surrounding Vettel's Austrian GP helmet

Another race means another environmental good cause to showcase and to defend for Formula 1's resident activist Sebastian Vettel.

Earlier this year, the Aston Martin driver assumed an ambassadorial role with the Austrian BEESandAPPLE project, which aims to create new habitat for bees in the hope of improving sustainability in the food industry.

BEESandAPPLE was launched last year by Frutura, Austria’s largest fruit and vegetable producer, with the aim of helping the European Union towards its target of creating a more sustainable future for food production by 2030.

To promote the initiative during this weekend's Austrian GP at the Red Bull Ring, Vettel had famed helmet designer Jens Munser whip up a yellow and black bumble bee-themed livery.

On Thursday, Vettel visited a bee hotel he helped build last year with children from a local Speilberg school. And a picture was taken of each child wearing the four-time world champion's Austrian GP lid.
