Charles Leclerc and Fernando Alonso will be working overtime at the start of Sunday's US Grand Prix, with both drivers collecting grid penalties due to engine component changes.

Leclerc has been given a sixth engine for the season but also a sixth turbocharger , with changes equating to a ten-place grid drop for the Monegasque.

The set-back will complicate Leclerc's task of battling Red Bull's Sergio Perez for the runner-up spot in the championship behind Verstappen.

As a reminder, the Mexican was also handed a grid penalty - but five spots - as a result of receiving a fresh engine .

As for Alonso, the Spaniard will also start his race five spots lower than his qualifying position, having been gifted a fresh ICE by Alpine.
