Romain Grosjean says Haas has done "an amazing job" to get back on track for the final day of pre-season testing.
Haas suffered reliability issues throughout the first two days of the final test with Esteban Gutierrez completing just 24 laps. Grosjean was then hit by a brake-by-wire problem on Thursday, stopping three times during a disjointed day. However, having managed to complete 53 laps in the morning session on the final day, Grosjean was full of praise for his team.
“It was a very good morning,” Grosjean said. “The guys worked hard all night long to solve the issue and that was very positive so I am very happy with that. There is still a lot of work that we need to do but generally everybody did an amazing job.
“It felt much better and it was a good relief for everyone because if you don’t have the brakes then it’s very hard to drive the car.”
And Grosjean acknowledges how difficult it will continue to be for Haas with the first race of the season in just two weeks.
“It’s been tough for everyone, especially for the guys who are away from their home for one month. But they have done an amazing job, they’ve been on it all the time … [hopefully] they can relax a little bit and next week we need to work hard to prepare for Melbourne.”
