Kevin Magnussen says he enjoyed a "really cool" weekend racing with his father in the Gulf 12 Hours event in Abu Dhabi where the pair had "a lot of fun".
Th Haas charger teamed up at Yas Marina with his 49-year-old father Jan – a former Stewart F1 driver turned GT ace – and MDK Motorsport team owner Mark Kvamme, the trio steering their AF Corse-run Ferrari 488 GT3 to a solid seventh-place finish.

The event's 11th edition was an AF Corse triumph with top spoils going to the #71 Ferrari of Antonio Fuoco, James Calado and Alessandro Pier Guidi who finished 14 seconds ahead of the #50 sister machine of Davide Rigon, Alessio Rivera and Nicklas Nielsen.
But a lot of focus was on the Magnussen's family entry and Kevin Magnussen's debut GT3 race
"It has been great to spend the weekend like this with my dad, we had a lot of fun," said the Haas driver, quoted by the Gulf 12 Hours official website.
"We have been talking racing all our lives and doing this, you go another level deeper, which is really cool."

Magnussen father and son and Kvamme will enjoy another outing together this winter as they are entered in the Rolex 24 at Daytona at the end of January.
The trio will be switching rides however, swapping their Ferrari for MDK Motorsport's Porsche 911 GT3 R.
