Ferrari has confirmed that Fred Vasseur will take over from Mattia Binotto to lead the Scuderia from 2023.
Binotto resigned from his role in charge of Ferrari's F1 outfit at the end of last month, with Vasseur immediately emerging as the top candidate to replace the Italian.
Alfa Romeo F1's announcement on Tuesday morning of Vasseur departure from Hinwil in early January paved the way for Ferrari to confirm the Frenchman's transfer to the House of Maranello.
"I am truly delighted and honoured to take over the leadership of Scuderia Ferrari as team principal," said Vasseur.
"As someone who has always held a lifelong passion for motorsport, Ferrari has always represented the very pinnacle of the racing world to me.
"I look forward to working with the talented and truly passionate team in Maranello to honour the history and heritage of the Scuderia and deliver for our Tifosi around the world."
Vasseur's impressive credentials in motorsport, as a team owner with ART Grand Prix and as a mentor of the likes of Lewis Hamilton, Nico Rosberg and Charles Leclerc, will hopefully benefit Ferrari which is desperately seeking to end an F1 title drought that started in 2008.

"Throughout his career he has successfully combined his technical strengths as a trained engineer with a consistent ability to bring out the best in his drivers and teams.
"This approach and his leadership are what we need to push Ferrari forward with renewed energy."
As an efficient operator with a no-nonsense approach to team management, and as a leader who does not succumb easily to pressure, Vasseur will hopefully instill a less impassioned atmosphere at Ferrari that will make way for better execution, the team's Achilles' heal in 2022.
