Romain Grosjean says he's happy racing in IndyCar, but an offer to return to F1 – perhaps even with Andretti – would warrant consideration.
In 2021, just months after surviving his fiery crash in Bahrain, Grosjean headed west to the United States for a part-time programme in Indycar with Dale Coyne Racing.
The Frenchman acquitted himself well and was offered for 2022 a full-time drive in the NTT IndyCar Series with Andretti Autosport, the former Haas charger clinching his first podium in the series.
Grosjean is set to embark on his second season with Andretti, but inevitably, he's been following closely team boss Michael Andretti's efforts to secure a spot on the grid in F1.
In a recent interview with GQ Magazine, the 36-year-old was asked if he would consider a return to F1, should Andretti-Cadillac succeed in gaining an entry into the sport.

"One thing I learned last year is to never say never," he said.
"I told my wife I would never live in the U.S. and I would never race in a U.S. series and I would never do the Indy 500, and I've done the three of them.
"So I think it's just: You never know what the future is like. Now, I enjoy being in IndyCar. I enjoy being able to do Lamborghini IMSA for the endurance races. It's the right balance for me."

Grosjean made his debut as a Lamborghini works driver at Daytona last month, and his involvement with the Italian manufacturer will see him help develop and race, in 2024, the constructors' new hybrid LMDh prototype.
But on the subject of Formula 1, Grosjean was pressed on how he would welcome a proposition, while knowing that his chances of returning to the fray are very slim.
"For sure, Formula 1 stays the pinnacle of motorsport," he said. So yes, if it was a team to win, yes.
"For sure, Andretti would have a lot of work if they make it Formula 1, just the way Haas was.
"Right now, I would say I prefer to stay in IndyCar, but again, you never know. When things are done and concrete and in front of you, sometimes your mind changes."
