Ex-F1 driver Daniil Kvyat will test a Formula E car for NIO 333 in Berlin at the end of the month, an outing that could lead to the Russian driver’s return to single-seater racing.
Kvyat last competed in Formula 1 in 2020 with Scuderia AlphaTauri, the 28-year-old holding a reserve and testing role with Alpine the following.
But since 2021, Kvyat has had no involvement in F1, but the Russian is competing full-time this year in the World Endurance Championship with the Prema LMP2 squad.
Kvyat has already enjoyed a simulator session with NIO 333 and had a seat fitting. The Chinese team currently races in Formula E with Sergio Sette Camara and Dan Ticktum, but feedback from the experienced former F1 driver could prove useful.
Formula E’s rookie test in Berlin will also see ex-Williams reserve Jack Aitken test with Envision, while young Red Bull protégé Zane Mahoney will enjoy a test with Andretti.
