Netflix could be set to make its first foray into the world of live sports, as the streaming platform is reportedly in talks to secure the rights to a Las Vegas celebrity golf tournament starring several F1 drivers.
According to The Wall Street Journal, the tournament would actually feature stars from two of Netflix’s more popular sports shows: Formula 1's 'Drive to Survive', and the golf series 'Full Swing'.
Similar to the format of its F1 counterpart, the immersive docu-series follows a diverse group of professional golfers - on and off the course - during their relentless season of competition.

No details have yet emerged about a date for the event, its format or the identity of those F1 stars who will feature in the contest.
However, F1 counts three drivers in its ranks who boast a good golf swing and who are all assiduous players: Lando Norris, Carlos Sainz and Alex Albon. It's also worth noting that the Williams driver's better half is professional golfer Lily Muni.
Furthermore, Ferrari's Charles Leclerc and McLaren boss Zak Brown are also regular visitors to the links.
So far, Netflix - a tad fearful of the impact to its bottom line of exorbitant sports rights - has steered clear of live sports broadcasting.
But the streaming giant – who bid for Formula 1's most recent broadcast rights in the US, and lost out to ESPN – may be gearing up to add live sports to its online catalogue.
