Alpine has reshuffled its upper management structure to simplify its governance under the leadership of CEO Laurent Rossi, appointing Bruno Famin as VP, Alpine Motorsports.
Famin, the man at the helm of Renault's F1 engine department in Viry -Châtillon, will lead Alpine's sporting involvement across all its motorsport activities, ranging from Formula 1 to Endurance, to customer racing and competition such as Rallye-Raid.
The French engineer, who will report directly to Rossi, will also supervise the Alpine Academy, the manufacturer's young driver programme.
Alpine's new organization will also include several functional hubs, following the nominations this year of Philippe Krief as VP, Engineering and Product Performance, and Antonino Labate as VP, Sales, Marketing & Customer Experience.
Famin's nomination will allow Rossi to devote more time to the international expansion of Alpine Cars, while the former will be in position to leverage his extensive experience in motorsports, built on his unique track record of victories, including several titles in Le Mans and Dakar.
In addition to his new responsibilities, Famin will continue to serve as MD of the Renault affiliate's engine division in Viry which produces high performance powertrains for several categories, including F1.
Famin's motorsport career began in 1989 with Peugeot, working with Peugeot Talbot Sport on engines and gearboxes. He personally worked on several vehicle projects such as the 905 Spider and the 106 GRA.
In 2005, he was appointed Technical Director of Peugeot Sport and by 2012, he took over as Director of the company, later playing a seminal role in the Le Mans winning 908 project and the record-breaking Pikes Peak victory in 2013 at the hands of Sebastien Loeb.
Famin was also at the helm of three Dakar Rally victories between 2016 and 2018. By 2019, he became Director of Operations for the FIA, managing the integration of all of the governing body's sporting and supporting functions.
