RM Sotheby’s has been entrusted to sell a remarkable selection of artifacts associated with the late Graham Hill at its upcoming London sale on 4 November.
The sale of The Graham Hill Collection will offer F1 fans an unprecedented and once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to acquire memorabilia with perfect provenance associated with one of the most legendary drivers in the history of motorsport.
A 14-time Grand Prix winner and a two-time F1 World Champion, Hill is also the only driver to have won motor racing’s coveted Triple Crown, having triumphed in the Monaco Grand Prix – five times, in the Indianapolis 500 and in the Le Mans 24 Hours.
The 59 lots are all offered for sale by the Hill family without reserve, and among the most significant pieces is the driver's 1962 FIA Drivers’ World Champion Trophy, awarded upon winning his first Drivers’ World Championship in a BRM P578.

It is believed that this is the first time that an FIA F1 World Championship Trophy has been offered to the public, and it has been estimated at between £25,000 – £35,000.
Another rare item that is likely to garner a hefty premium is Hill’s 1969 Monaco Grand Prix winner’s trophy representing his final triumph in the Principality.
More prestigious race winning silverware is on offer, including Hill’s 1972 24 Hours of Le Mans Winner’s Moët & Chandon Trophy which delivered to the Briton his Triple Crown reward.
Hill’s famous dark blue and white helmet livery - a design which was a nod to the London Rowing Club of which he was a loyal member and which he carried throughout his entire career, as did his son, 1996 F1 World Champion Damon Hill – adorns a period Bell Star helmet used by Hill in the late sixties or early seventies and which features prominently in the collection.
Also on offer is an extremely rare pair of period overalls produced by Jay Brand Nomex, with Graham Hill’s name embroidered above the right chest pocket.
The Graham Hill Collection auction will take place at RM Sotheby’s in London on Saturday, 4 November 2023. All items can be viewed on the auction house’s website here.
