Pairings confirmed for Netflix Cup golf showdown

The golf carts will rev-up on Tuesday for the first-ever Netflix Cup, where titans from the worlds of Formula 1 and golf will unite for a unique competition preceding next weekend’s the Las Vegas Grand Prix.

Presented by Netflix and scheduled for Tuesday, November 14, at the Wynn Golf Club in Las Vegas, the event will bring together stars of the streaming platform’s acclaimed 'Drive to Survive' and 'Full Swing' docu-series in a competitive face-off.

Given the immense popularity of these two sports series on Netflix, the competition promises to be a captivating spectacle for fans as the exciting pairings bring their unique blend of skills and expertise to the course.

The tournament will feature four pairs, each comprising a Formula One driver and a PGA Tour professional, competing in an eight-hole matchplay format.

The tournament will consist of two matches, with two pairs of athletes competing in each match. The victors of Match 1 and Match 2 will then advance to a final playoff where they will battle it out for the coveted Netflix Cup trophy.

Match 1 will feature McLaren’s Lando Norris and Rickie Fowler against Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz and two-time major champion Justin Thomas, while Match 2 will pit Williams Alex Albon and Max Homa against Alpine’s Pierre Gasly and double major winner Collin Morikawa.

The game will be played in a scramble format, where each player on each team hits a tee shot at the same time. Then, teams strategize to select the best ball for their next shot. The top two teams will advance to the final hole.

F1 or golf fans from around the world who wish to follow the action live on Tuesday will need to tune in to Netflix from 3pm Pacific Time – or 6pm ET (11pm GMT).
