Arrow McLaren announced on Tuesday that NASCAR star Kyle Larson will get another daring shot at motorsports history in 2025 when he attempts to conquer both the Indy 500 and the Coca-Cola 600 on the same day.
Larson’s remarkable feat will mark his second attempt at the historic challenge, with Arrow McLaren and Hendrick Motorsports again partnering to facilitate the logistics of the grueling double that will take place on May 25, 2025.
The 2021 NASCAR Cup Series champion made his debut last May at the Indy 500, but adverse weather conditions marred his ambitious bid to compete in both iconic events.
Rain in both Indianapolis and Charlotte delayed travel, ultimately preventing him from completing any laps in the Coca-Cola 600.
However, despite the setback, Larson is eager to try again, with his sights firmly set on completing all 1,100 miles across the two races.

“I really enjoyed the month of May in Indy and racing with Arrow McLaren, but I was really disappointed with missing the Coca-Cola 600 with the No. 5 HendrickCars.com team,” commented Larson.
“I appreciate the second opportunity because we have unfinished business. I really want to complete all 1100 miles, and I think we have the opportunity to battle for the win in both events.”

Lessons learned from this year’s attempt will be crucial next time around. Practice sessions saw Larson shine last May, showcasing his adaptability to open-wheel racing.
He even led laps in the Indy 500 before a pit road speeding penalty shuffled him back in the field, where he ultimately finished 18th.
McLaren Racing CEO Zak Brown echoed Larson’s sentiment of "unfinished business." He believes that with a bit more luck on the weather front, the combined effort of McLaren and Hendrick Motorsports can propel Larson to victory at both races.
“Kyle showed us all what he was capable of this past May, and given a second chance with better weather conditions, I think we’ll all be excited to see him fight for a win at the Indy 500 and then another one in Charlotte,” said Brown.
“He’s one of the most talented racing drivers out there, and it’s a privilege to do this again with Mr. Hendrick and Jeff Gordon, who are both world-class. We can’t wait for May.”
