There was another Wolff celebrating a a win, and even a championship, last weekend – and unlike his father, he did it from behind a steering wheel rather than a pit-wall headset.
Nine-year-old Jack Wolff, the son of Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff and F1 Academy managing director Susie Wolff, secured his first karting championship at the Leopard Circuit Viterbo in Italy, wrapping up the IAME Series Italy Racing Formula title in the X30 U10 category.
And he did it with rather more flair than simply ticking the necessary boxes.
Leading the standings heading into the sixth and final round, Jack put the championship beyond doubt by finishing on the top step of the podium with KR Motorsport.
It was the perfect way to cap a season in which he had already established himself as a regular frontrunner – although, by his own admission, the title wasn't exactly part of the original script.
“It was good. We had a lot of wins and some bad races but at the end we fought well and we won the championship, so I’m really happy,” Jack said.
The young Austrian-Swiss driver had already claimed his first IAME Series Italy victory in July, and his consistency throughout the campaign left him with a title opportunity heading into the final weekend.

What perhaps surprised Jack most this year was just how often he found himself fighting at the sharp end.
“From the season I did not know I would win nearly every single round so I was really surprised that I was up there,” he admitted.
The X30 U10 field, meanwhile, offered little room for a leisurely family outing.
“It’s really competitive. There’s a lot of good drivers fighting in the championship and we came here on the first step,” Jack insisted.
At nine years old – he turns 10 next April – Jack is still a long way from anything resembling the world of F1, despite having perhaps the most recognisable surname in the paddock.
His father Toto has spent more than a decade turning Mercedes into one of F1's dominant forces as team principal and CEO, while his mother Susie has carved out her own place in the sport as managing director of F1 Academy.
For now, however, Jack appears perfectly content to concentrate on the much more immediate business of getting a kart around a circuit quickly.
And having secured his first championship, he was keen to acknowledge the support system that helped get him there.
“I want to thank my whole team, my mum, my dad, my whole family to get me here, to race, and to win the championship,” he said.
With one Wolff adding a karting trophy to the family cabinet, Toto might want to start checking whether the Mercedes simulator has a junior mode.
