Lando Norris had more than a third victory of the season to celebrate in Sao Paulo on Sunday. After a demanding few months in which McLaren had struggled to match its main rivals, the Briton was especially delighted to deliver something tangible to the people behind his success.
A superbly judged drive through Interlagos' constantly changing conditions earned Norris a commanding Brazilian Grand Prix victory, with Max Verstappen finishing more than 14 seconds behind after another remarkable charge from the back of the grid.
But beyond the points and the champagne, the McLaren driver's biggest satisfaction came from being able to repay the effort of a team that has continued working relentlessly to get its campaign back on track.
"It was a very tough race – very, very tough," Norris reflected after clinching his thirteenth career win in F1.
"Obviously, not the best of launches off the line, but a lot of challenges today, obviously, with the conditions.
"Going onto slicks in the wet is always tough, especially when you're pushing for the lead and trying to catch up a little bit.
"The main thing today was I just kept it cool and I didn't make any mistakes. I had the pace when I needed to, so it was good. Nice to be back on the top step, and what a place to do it as well."
Cool head delivers when it matters
Norris' afternoon was anything but straightforward. Although starting from pole, he immediately lost ground to Kimi Antonelli and Liam Lawson as the Mercedes driver seized the lead into Turn 1.
Rather than panic, Norris gradually worked his way back into contention, keeping the pressure on Antonelli before McLaren's decision to switch to slick tyres helped transform his prospects.

The Briton emerged from the strategic shuffle in a position to challenge for the lead, and when Antonelli spun at Turn 1, he needed no invitation to reclaim first place.
Thereafter, Norris had to manage his advantage through another sequence of pit stops as rain returned to Interlagos.
Verstappen's relentless pursuit ensured there was little room for complacency, but the McLaren driver remained composed when the conditions became increasingly treacherous.
A little reward for McLaren's hard work
McLaren's latest upgrade package appeared to deliver an encouraging step forward at Interlagos, with Norris showing impressive speed throughout practice before converting his wet-weather prowess into pole position and victory.
For the Briton, the result was also confirmation that the team's efforts behind the scenes were beginning to translate into something more substantial on track.
"We're trying, you know. I'm trying my best, and I think this weekend we had an opportunity to get pole yesterday, we had an opportunity to win,” he explained.
"I feel like most times this year, when there's been an opportunity, I went for it and we've been able to achieve it. So I have to say a big thanks to the team because they're still working very hard.

"It's annoying when you can't give them a good result back, like the last few weeks. But certainly this weekend, I feel like we've been able to give something back to them and give them a little bit of reward for their hard work.
“So always a big thanks to them, and we have to keep pushing till the end of the year."
Sunday at Interlagos offered a welcome change of mood. After weeks of chasing improvements and trying to close the gap to their rivals, the team could finally enjoy the satisfaction of seeing its efforts rewarded in the most convincing fashion.
And Norris, having kept his head when the Brazilian weather threatened to turn the race upside down, was more than happy to deliver the present.
