Raikkonen fastest on Day 2!

Kimi Raikkonen put Ferrari at the top of the timesheets this afternoon and kept it there on the second day of pre-season testing in Barcelona.

The Finn clocked a 1:20.960 as the fastest lap of his 108-lap day at the Circuit de Catalunya, eight tenths of a second ahead of Lewis Hamilton's Mercedes which raked in 66 laps.

Ferrari's speed and reliability bodes well for the Scuderia, especially as Hamilton's fastest lap was set on Pirelli's SuperSoft tyre while the Finn achieved his best time using the Soft compound.

Mercedes second man, Valtteri Bottas, devoted his afternoon to a full race simulation, the first driver to do so, completing 100 laps in the process.

Red Bull Racing's Max Verstappen was third ahead of another long distance runner, Haas' Kevin Magnussen.

Ocon was alte started to the day but still put in an 86-lap day, finishing fifth fastest overall.

Dany Kvyat was sixth, running the soft tyre on his Toro Rosso, while Jolyon Palmer finally got some track time after he was sidelined in the morning.

Antonio Giovinazzi, subbing for the injured Pascal Wehrlein, also required a power unit change early. He eventually got down to some productive work however, accumulating 67 laps in the afternoon.

McLaren-Honda  had another laborious day, with a power unit change -the second in two days - required on Stoffel Vandoorne's MCL32. The Belgian managed a series of laps in the final hour of the session, ending the day with just a 40-lap tally.

Lance Stroll was prevented from any running, Williams lacking the spare parts necessary to repair the damage caused by the rookie's morning off-track excursion.
