Brazilian driver Alex Ribeiro’s unwavering faith led him to have “Jesus Saves” written on most of his racing cars, like this March F2 he drove at Rouen, Normandy in 1978 (hence the French inscription). That did not prove to be enough for Ribeiro to have a successful career in the top flight though.
The Belo Horizonte racer entered 10 grand prix weekends, but never managed to actually start any race. Ribeiro then went on to become the official driver of the F1 medical car but lost the gig when he crashed into the barriers at Monaco.
