Team Penske's Simon Pagenaud has embraced the promised land but the Frenchman still retains a deep patriotic fibre for his homeland.
Yesterday was France's national day and Pagenaud celebrated the 14th of July in style by winning Sunday's Toronto Grand Prix and putting himself back in contention for the title in IndyCar with six races to go.
The winner of this year's Indy 500 was in charge of the proceedings from the outset and led 80 of the 85 laps at Exhibition Place, defeating Chip Ganassi's Scott Dixon and Andretti Autosport's Alex Rossi.
Penske's Josef Newgarden remains at the helm of the NTT IndyCar Series drivers' standings, leading Rossi and Pagenaud.
Simon says… "I can do it!"
