Daniel Ricciardo made a pit stop in Detroit after last week's unveiling in New York of Red Bull's 2023 contender, the RB19.
Ricciardo dropped by the headquarters of future Red Bull engine partner Ford where he took to the manufacturer's test track in Michigan onboard an assortment of cars produced by the Blue Oval.
Among those was, a DJR Team Penske-built Gen2 Ford Mustang Supercar which is maintained and run at Ford for the pleasure of the company's CEO, Jim McFarley, a racer in his own right.
And the Ford boss was on hand to offer Ricciardo a few pointers when it was the Aussie's turn to saddle the big-bore machine.
"I've driven pretty much every Ford under the sun and just got out of this bad boy right here," said Ricciardo in a social media video for Ford Performance.
"Bit of Aussie in me. A little bit of a V8 Supercars here in Michigan – which is far from home, but I felt at home in it.
"It was a lot of fun. A big thanks to Ford for having me out here."
We can’t think of a better way to spend your first time in the Motor City @danielricciardo! Welcome to @Ford!👋 pic.twitter.com/dw4zOdkXEd
