Valtteri Bottas says he has yet to sign a contract for 2016 with either Williams or Ferrari following reports of a move.
Ferrari team principal Maurizio Arrivebene was coy when asked about a potential pre-contract agreement with Bottas for 2016 or 2017, but when asked if he had signed a deal, Bottas replied: “No.”
However, asked about his situation at Williams, Bottas replied: “I don’t have anything for next year.
“My management is doing all that and maybe there’s some things they didn’t tell me so maybe you should ask them.
“At the moment I’m not thinking about any move, I’m just thinking about getting the best out of this season. That’s for my management to think about and I’m sure they have some kind of plan for this season for the years ahead.”
And Bottas says he is not concerning himself with plans for next season, despite admitting he’d like to know “sooner rather than later” where he will be racing.
“I saw and heard plenty of stories and it’s sometimes quite funny to hear those because in the end you know what’s the case and what’s not. There’s a lot of people making up stuff, and the fact is at the moment I’m just focusing on this season, getting the maximum for us as a team and then the rest I don’t know yet.
“There has always been many kinds of rumours so I’m not really thinking about those, that’s for my management to think. I’m only personally focusing on this moment and this season because I think thats the best thing for me to do for the future as well.”
