Raffaele Marciello says Ferrari's progress since the end of 2014 is clear after his first run in the SF15-T during the Barcelona test.
The last time Marciello drove a Ferrari F1 car was following the final race of last season when he drove the 2014 car at the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi. Using that car as his reference, Marciello says the it was easy for him to notice the steps forward.
“Even though it’s the first time I have driven this car, I got positive feelings from it, as it has a lot of grip compared to the GP2 cars that I’m used to driving," Marciello said. "I think the team has done a good job: the last time I did a test, it was in Abu Dhabi last year and there’s definitely been a lot of progress made since then."
And Marciello says Ferrari focused on trying to extract more performance from its update which it introduced during the Spanish Grand Prix weekend.
"We will now analyse the large quantity of data we gathered on the new aerodynamic package used last Sunday to further improve our performance.
"For me, it was a nice feeling to get into a Ferrari, especially as an Italian, but you must always keep your feet on the ground and concentrate on what you are doing.”
