Kimi Raikkonen says he expects to have an easier time in qualifying for the Canadian Grand Prix following Friday practice.
The Finn has struggled on Saturdays on numerous occasions this season, with Monaco seeing him start sixth on the grid behind the two Red Bulls after failing to get his tyres working properly. With the same tyre compounds supplied in Montreal, Raikkonen says Friday showed better signs for him.
"There is still work to be done on that side but it’s more easy here than say Monaco," Raikkonen said. "It depends on many things, obviously the weather and everything."
And Raikkonen is also encouraged by the updated Ferrari power unit delivering the expected step forward.
"It was all like we expected, absolutely fine. Today was a bit disturbed by weather but it was the same for everybody. I don’t think we got enough running done but I think we are more or less there. There’s still work to be done but it’s Friday so we have to wait and see."
