Ferrari test driver Esteban Gutiérrez will enjoy a demo run aboard the F60 this Sunday, as the Mexican is set to take part in a Formula One show on home soil.

With the Mexican Grand Prix set to return to the F1 calendar later this year, the 23-year-old will drive the 2009-spec Ferrari on Mexico City’s Paseo de la Reforma at 10am, local time.

After spending two years as a fully-fledged Sauber driver, Gutiérrez moved to Maranello over the winter and has already tested twice for the Italian outfit, running in the post-Spanish and Austrian Grand Prix sessions.

Asked at Spielberg whether he would make an FP1 appearance at the revamped Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez next November, Gutiérrez remained fairly evasive on the matter as he replied “hopefully” in a smile.

The Mexican has also been tipped to join Haas F1 Team in 2016, as the newcomers enjoy a strong technical partnership with Ferrari.

The Italian squad is not the first organisation to have a show run in Mexico City this year since Red Bull thrilled local crowds with protégés Daniel Ricciardo and Carlos Sainz last month.
