Felipe Massa would welcome Robert Kubica's return to Formula 1 following Renault's announcement that it would provide the Pole with a second test outing.

In early June, Kubica pounded around Valencia in a 2012-spec Lotus supplied by Renault, a successful and encouraging day of testing which he would like to capitalize on with the help of his former employer.

A second test is now scheduled to take place at the Circuit Paul Ricard sometime in the near future, perhaps even later this month.

"This second test will be to assess his capabilities to return to the highest level of competition," said team boss Cyril Abiteboul.

As Kubica's chances of making a full return to Grand Prix racing grow stronger, Felipe Massa is one driver who would welcome love to see the 2008 Canadian GP winner back in F1.

"It's very difficult to answer because we don't know exactly how he is and how is his arm," said the Williams driver.

"It would be fantastic for Formula 1 to have him back but I really hope he's really in the position to be back in the right way and strong enough to do the whole season," he added.
