Toyota and Alonso make it three in a row at Silverstone!

Fernando Alonso and his Toyota team mate Sebastien Buemi, Kazuki Nakajima maintained their one hundred percent victory rate in the WEC's Super Season by winning the 6 Hours of Silverstone .

Toyota's clean sweep campaign was never in jeopardy on Sunday, with the #7 sister car of Mike Conway, Kamui Kobayashi and Jose Maria Lopez, which had been fastest in qualifying, leading the early part of the event.

The two car, running on different strategies, swapped position however during the second stint, but a slow pitstop by the #8 crew put Conway back in command.

The Brit eventually had Alonso snapping at his heels, the Spaniard making a decisive move at Brooklands to wrestle back the lead.

While he quickly built up a margin up ahead, Alonso saw his gap evaporate at the half-way mark by a Safety Car intervention.

After the next drivers' rotation, Lopez overhauled Nakajima as the Japanese driver struggled with handling issues.

As the race entered its final quarter, Buemi was in pursuit mode, helped by a slow penultimate stop for the #7 Toyota.

A slight off by Kobayashi at Abbey damaged his car's floor and handed to Buemi just the break his crew needed to cruise to a third consecutive WEC triumph.
