The works Renault team has lodged an official protest with the FIA, contesting the legality of Romain Grosjean's Haas' VF-18 car after Sunday's Italian Grand Prix.

The French manufacturer refused to specify which area of its rival's car was the object of its doubts, but FIA race director Charlie Whiting revealed that the protest focuses on the VF-18's floor, an area that was apparently updated by the US outfit prior to the Italian Grand Prix weekend.

The hearing in which representatives of both teams will be heard is scheduled to take place at 18h30 local time at Monza.

It's likely Renault decided to protest only Grosjean's car because the Frenchman finished in the points at Monza, his sixth-place putting Haas level with Renault in the Constructors' standings after Sunday's race.
