Nissan e-dams will run a blend of experience and youth in its maiden Formula E season, entrusting its electric charger to 2015/16 champion Sebastien Buemi and F2 racer Alexander Albon.
Buemi's presence in the works outfit for the series fifth season is hardly a surprise as the Swiss driver simply picks up with Nissan where he left off with Renault as the Japanese manufacturer takes over the branding of the team from its French partner.
A former Toro Rosso bull, from 2009 to 2011, and a Toyota works driver in the World Endurance championship, Buemi was at one point believed to be on the verge of an F1 return with the Faenza-based squad.
The 29-year-old will remain in the all-electric series however and will be joined at Nissan by Anglo-Thai Alexander Albon, a newcomer to Formula E.
The 22-year-old currently races in the F2 championship with DAMS but is looking forward to his electric future.
"The level of competition in the series is intense, and I’m looking forward to testing myself against some of the best drivers in the world," Albon said.
"Electric street racing will be a new challenge for me, but working with Sebastien as my teammate will be a huge help, as he has set the benchmark for performance in the series."
