Sauber driver Felipe Nasr was given a three-place grid penalty for impeding countryman Felipa Massa in today's Brazilian Grand Prix qualifying session.

The Williams drivers' afternoon was put into jeopardy when he found Nasr's Sauber moving slowly on the racing line at the end of Q1, which prompted feverish avoiding action.

Fortunately, both driver's made it into Q2 but Nasr, who ended the session 11th and was set to start 10th following Daniel Ricciardo's engine penalty, will now start 13th. The Brazilian was also handed two penalty points on his licence for the first time this season.

As a reminder, Valtteri Bottas was demoted to 7th from 4th on tomorrow's grid as a result of a red flag infringement on Friday.
