Scuderia Ferrari boss Mattia Binotto says the Italian outfit is now operating under a new technical structure put in place to help it return to the winner's circle in F1.
Binotto succeeded previous team principal Maurizio Arrivabene at the helm of the Scuderia.
While the red squad was seen as a clear favourite before the season got underway, it has yet to win a single race and defeat arch-rival Merecdes, a shortfall that has logically raised questions about Binotto's status.
The Swiss engineer has revealed that the team has shoed away from its traditional horizontal management system which allowed input from junior staff with new ideas.
"Since January we have reorganised. There is no longer the famous classical horizontal structure," Binotto told Italy's La Gazzetta dello Sport.
"We have identified four or five figures that have become my points of reference in the various areas. I am useful for filtering information and thinking about the future.
"2021 is around the corner with new regulations, cars that could be radically different and the budget cap that will force us to review certain production processes."
According to Motorsport.com, Binotto's four reference points are likely Laurent Mekies who manages the team's affairs at the circuits, Enrico Cardile who overlooks chassis design, David Sanchez who handles aerodynamics and Enrico Gualtieri on the power unit side.
Binotto, who suggested that the main issues impacting Ferrari's SF90 are linked to Pirelli's tyres, reiterated his belief that the Scuderia's current organization was one that still need to mature, not unlike the Ferrari workforce that preceded Maranello's era of dominance with Michael Schumacher.
"I prefer to make a comparison with the 1996/97 Ferrari," he said.
"A growing team, with solid foundations. We too are a young and hungry team. I see many similarities with then.
"We have desire, vision, talent, passion and two great drivers: I see the same drive that brought us to the red domination of twenty years ago"
