As the shortest track on the F1 calendar, the Red Bull Ring requires just 65 seconds to complete a full lap at record pace.
As a track that weaves up and down across green pastures, with a few blind spots around its ten corners, the circuit is more of a challenge for drivers than it is for engines, but good traction and plenty of grunt are still required to do the job.
As it's a sprint race weekend, we've logically taken the speed trap readings from Friday's qualifying session and therefore we're publishing this regular feature today rather than on race day.
Finally, as usual, the main speed trap in Austria is located at the end of the straight between Turns 3 and 4.
Sergio Perez upheld in qualifying the strong maximum velocity track record of Red Bull's RB18 which helped the Mexican qualify P4.
However, Perez was deemed – albeit several hours after the fact - to have left the track during his fastest lap in Q2, which led to the invalidation of his three laps in Q3.
Perez just edged Williams' Alex Albon in terms of top speed, but Kevin Magnussen's strong velocity coupled with the Dane's excellent P6 performance in qualifying bode well for Haas' chances of adding more points to its tally this weekend.
One final observation: Lewis Hamilton's reasonably good straight-line speed makes us regret the seven-time F1 world champion's uncharacteristic error in Q3 as the Mercedes driver looked on course for a strong display.
If Hamilton can gain a few spots in Saturday's sprint race, he may well put himself in the mix for another podium on Sunday, while the same applies for the Briton's teammate George Russell.
