Fernando Alonso says four podiums out of five races have spurred on his desire to now achieve an outright win or at least a second place with Aston Martin this season.
Alonso stood proud on the third step of the podium in Bahrain, Jeddah and Melbourne, and finished fourth in Baku, a string of results that have positioned him and the Aston Martin team as the leadings contenders behind the unassailable Red Bull outfit.
The 41-year-old says his results this season with Team Silverstone have clearly exceeded his expectations.
"I think at the beginning of the year a podium was amazing. Now after four podiums we want obviously more, and at least a second place," Alonso said.
"But the two Red Bulls are always unbreakable, and they are always super fast. But as I said maybe Monaco, maybe Barcelona we have a possibility."

Alonso was on his own for most of the Miami Grand Prix, with his Mercedes and Ferrari rivals well adrift, their drivers struggling for pace.
During the race, the Spaniard even caught a glimpse on a big screen of an overtaking move by teammate Lance Stroll, and radioed in to his crews to compliment the Canadian!
"A little bit of a lonely race today and nothing really to do in front of us with the Red Bulls and behind us," he added.
"Maybe we did expect a little bit stronger opposition, but the Ferraris were a bit worse than expected today. So yeah, it's never easy, but it was a lonely race.
"We take the podium and going into the triple-header of Imola, Monaco and Barcelona, at which hopefully we can keep on going."
