Rosberg still impressed by Mercedes achievements

While Nico Rosberg will be aiming to preserve or extend his lead in the drivers' championship, Mercedes will have a shot at winning the Constructors' title this weekend in Malaysia.

The German squad's 222-point lead over current runner-up Red Bull Racing virtually guarantees its victory in the standings.

During Thursday's press conference, Rosberg reiterated his appreciation for the entire Silver Arrows crew and its outstanding accomplishments.

"It has been another incredible year really," Rosberg said.

" Every time we think it can never be done again and can never repeat itself and be as good as that again, we manage to do it again.

"This year as well now, so early in the season we have the opportunity to clinch the Constructors' Championship, which is phenomenal and everybody has just done an unbelievable job โ€“ very impressive."

For many, Rosberg's driving and performance level in Singapore were perhaps at their apogee, but the German isn't dwelling on his most recent result or how it was achieved, preferring to focus instead ย on the race ahead.

"I don't need to take anything from the Singapore weekend. It was a great result and a great weekend and I am very happy about that. But it is in the past.

"I am here in Sepang and ready to go and of course I believe I have a great chance to win here as well and I just want to try and go for that.

"I am aware of the situation and I am aware of the points and whatever else, that is fine. It is just that I try and focus on the race weekend I have in front of me because it has been working really well for me to just do that and not think about anything else. So that is it. "
