Sauber's Pascal Wehrlein is set to return to the cockpit next week following his recovery from a back injury sustained earlier this year.
The German driver had a massive crash at the Race of Champions event in Miami last month and, while he emerged unscathed from the incident, further diagnosis revealed back and neck injuries which have kept him on the sidelines.
Wehrlein has enjoyed a steady recovery however, and further medical tests this week should prove conclusive in the Sauber driver's ability to return to work for the second week of pre-season testing in Barcelona.
In the interim, Sauber has drafted in Ferrari reserve driver Antonio Giovinazzi to test the team's new C36 alongside Marcus Ericsson.
Wehrlein is present at the Circuit de Catalunya however, getting familiar with his new racing family as he awaits the green light from the faculty to resume his driving duties.
