Big Dan cracks it for Brabham at Rouen!

On this day in 1964, Dan Gurney brought Jack Brabham's team its very first win in the Formula 1 world championship.

The lanky American, driving a Climax-powered BT7, battled Jim Clark at the French Grand Prix at Rouen but was left alone at the front when the Scot's engine expired at half distance.

The race was also Dan Gurney's second career Grand Prix win.
