It all started with Cooper back in 1966, when Ron Dennis joined the British team as a young 18-year-old mechanic.
It was all uphill from there, as Dennis moved on to Brabham before founding his own outfit, Rondel Racing along with colleague Neil Trundle, and then Project Four Racing on his own, an outfit which would eventually take over McLaren in 1980.
The curtain has now fallen on Dennis' racing life although many would argue that the conclusion occurred late last year when he was ousted as CEO from the McLaren technology Group
