When October 21 belonged to Kimi...

Fourteen years ago today, on October 21 2007, Kimi Räikkonen - an outsider in the fight for the world championship - started the final race of the season in Brazil third in the Drivers' standings, seven points behind the leader, McLaren's Lewis Hamilton.

A few hours and one astonishing victory later, the day belonged to Kimi, the 2007 F1 World Champion, after the Finn defeated the Briton by a single point.

And perhaps even more astonishing is the fact that the Iceman remains to this day Ferrari's last crowned champion.

But perhaps the most impressive statistic imbedded in Kimi's outstanding F1 career is the fact that he has participated in almost one third of the rounds of the F1 World Championship since its inception in 1950!

This weekend in Austin, Raikkonen, who will head into a well-deserved retirement at the end of the season, is set to enjoy his 345th Grand Prix start.
