Sebastian Vettel's achievement in qualifying yesterday marks the first time in forty-seven years that a Ferrari driver starts the Mexican GP from pole position.
The last member of the Scuderia to lead the field off the grid in Mexico City was Clay Regazzoni in 1970.
The Swiss driver was only in his fourth race with Ferrari, and followed up the performance with second place on race day, behind team mate and championship runner-up Jacky Ickx.
