The Brabham name is surely one of the most famous and iconic in the whole of motorsport. And this week it received a new lease of life as the Brabham BT62 was launched at Australia House in London on Wednesday evening.
Limited to a run of just 70, the 972kg (2142lb) mid-engined, track-focused hypercar features a 4.4-litre V8 engine producing 700bhp and 492lb/ft of torque.
“I set out 12 years ago to re-establish the iconic Brabham name, determined to see it return to global competition," said David Brabham, son of former world champion Sir Jack.
“My father had an incredible determination to succeed," he continued. "Like him, I’ve worked tirelessly through this time, drawing on my experience and never once losing sight of that goal."
The first 35 BT62s will feature special liveries celebrating each of the manufacturer's victories in Formula 1.
