Jenson Button has just added another title to his credentials, the 2009 F1 world champion winning the Japanese Super GT championship along with Honda team mate Naoki Yamamoto.
The Team Kunimitsu crew finished third at the tense Motegi final with their NSX GT500, a result that proved sufficient to seal the title which is also Honda's first Super GT title since 2010.
It was anything but a simple affair whoever, with Button forced to fend off a charge by the TOM's Lexus LC500 of Ryo Hirakawa and Nick Cassidy in the closing stages of the event, the former McLaren driver only ensuring his championship win on the penultimate lap of the race.
